“Within a couple of hours, as time passed, he entered my room, silently and secretively as a lion would his prey. I tried to play like I was sleep, but he woke me. He asked if I was ok and apologized for the way my mother spoke to me earlier. I just replied with a smile because truthfully, I didn’t’ even understand her statement as a 7yr old. Then he proceeded to tell me everything was ok and that I could trust him.
At that moment, I began to feel the same confusion I did when my mother disciplined me for the way I interacted with her “man.” He than began to hug me and touch me softly on my face. The thoughts of fatherly love softly warmed my heart. The feelings of concern drifted away as I knew he was there to protect me… so I thought.
What happened after that innocent moment was that thing that haunted me for many years afterwards. That moment of disgust later became the result of childhood nightmares, the fighting in school, loss of self-worth, confusion, hatred, and adult male trust issues. These all propelled and played a part of my life of ridiculous faith.
Yes, the ugliest moments in my life became one of the forefront reasons I had ridiculous faith in knowing God had more in store for me, and I wasn’t going to stop believing until I saw it come to pass.“

This excerpt from my upcoming book is just a piece of my unreported story as a survivor of sexual abuse from the hands of my stepfather. I state “unreported” because it was never reported to authorities and with the death threats made by my accuser, I feared my life. With this, I never (until adulthood) shared the things he did to me repeatedly.
The molestation began at the tender age of seven and grew to abuse over the years. For many years I struggled with self-worth, anger, and trust issues as a result of these horrific incidents. It wasn’t until I was forced to seek psychiatric help at the age of fourteen due to multiple failed suicidal attempts, that my thought process began to change. My early twenties would be where I no longer had the thoughts of “ALL MEN” being defiled creatures. And it wasn’t until my latter twenties where I completely released the pain that scarred me throughout my childhood.
Now I stand unashamed of the incidents that occurred as I know it too served a purpose for my good. Through my pain, I am able to help other persevere.
Through my Teen KICK Ministry, I teach young girls how to not allow labels of hurt, shame, or even social media to define them. I lead through teaching their identity is found through Christ.
I share to state, You TOO can overcome. Know you are not alone and that with Christ… all things are possible, including overcoming sexual abuse or harassment.

So a friend and I were discussing over the weekend how we like to switch up secular lyrics with those of the word from Jesus.
I’m sitting in Starbucks getting some work done and I became inspired by a song that came on Pandora. “I Ain’t too Proud to Beg” by TLC.
Ok, I know your first thought is girrrrl… you were able to convert the lyrics of “I Ain’t too Proud to Beg” into words of light, love and encouragement from God?! I gotta finish read this!
Well, let me share with you. As the song came on, I began to tap my feet to the beat, nod my head in rhythm and while a grand smile emerged, I began to type out my inspiration. I thought of my current season. The bible states “to every thing there is a season” Eccl. 3. Two specific versus from this chapter stuck out to me that reference my current season.
“A time to tear down and a time to build, as well as a time to be silent and a time to speak.” I can’t help but take the words of TLC and change them as a cry out to God, boldly stating “I ain’t to proud to beg for God’s direction as I rebuild. I ain’t to proud to beg while I speak up declaring the promises He has shared with me. I ain’t to proud to beg for what God called my own!.”
Can I get a yes and Amen?
The definition of beg, is “to ask (someone) earnestly or humbly for something.”
I am earnestly and humbly asking God to strengthen me through the peaks and the valley. I humbly ask for Him to comfort me as my confidence is restored and boldly declare aloud those things He already promised me.
Told you this was going to be good. 🙂
The bible says “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7. I’m earnestly asking, seeking and knocking even in the midst of the storm, transition or simply stated “the world being the world.” Trust, I can find a message in just about anything due to the way my GODFIDENCE™ is set up. *BIG SMILE*

One of the best ways to protect your growth is by investing in yourself!
Invest physically, spiritually, financially and mentally.
What does it mean to invest in yourself? Well simply stated, it means to care more about your God-given purpose greater than the many life distractions that may come your way. Listen, God never said it would be easy but I do know from personal testimony that it is definitely worth it!
When you care more, you will invest in proper eating and exercise to perform at your very best. You will spend more time with Christ to understand your divine purpose. You will invest financially to receive the education necessary and you will take the time to invest mentally as what you think, you shall become.
When you know you are worth it, you stand a little taller and you also care just a little bit more.

One of the most powerful and motivational acts one can do is be a person who lives what they speak. A person who shows love through action, show trust through action, belief through action and being obedient to the direction and order God has for them through action.
You never know who you are inspiring through what you DO, not just what you say you are doing or what you will do. In the words of Nike, “just do it!”
As stated in the previous post, each month for 2016 will have a specific focus in order to #LiveIntentionally ! This month is all about wellness.
For January week 1 – It’s all about Mental Wellness
Mental Wellness is defined as “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.”
With this definition, I will share tips each day this week that will help reduce the stresses of life and will help you work productively.
Today is all about breathing
Breathing is one of the quickest easiest ways to relax, release stress and gain clarity to become more productive.
“Slow, deep breaths can help lower blood pressure and heart rate . For the fancy noses out there, try pranayama breathing, a yogic method that involves breathing through one nostril at a time to relieve anxiety. The technique’s supposed to work the same way as acupuncture, balancing the mind and body (and possibly eliminating the need for a tissue).”
Try this today and share your experience. Remember, every tip ties back to Living Intentionally. When we take the time to just breathe, we give ourselves to enjoy more things in the moment. We open ourselves up to give our best selves and because of this, we will do things with intent that will cause our lives to blossom!
Breathing opens yourself to God’s blessings.
Job 33:4“The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”
Recognize the breath God has given you and live intently, on purpose and on fire for what HE has for your life!

It’s a New Year and another opportunity for you to live out your purpose! Being transparent, 2015 definitely had many more valleys than mountains but To God be the glory as it ALL works for the good of HIM!
This year, I have decided to live with intention and I want you to join me on this journey.
Each month I will focus on one specific area to live with intention. I believe if we take the opportunity to enjoy the moments, find purpose in it all and truly live with intention, we will find accomplish many more goals and truly live our best lives!
This is the opportunity to build a circle of accountability while being encouraged along the way with great tips from none other than Coach K!

Take a minute or five or thirty and think about those things in 2015 you didn’t get the opportunity to finish or those things you wish you could do differently. Then, recognize since you are still living, you have the opportunity to turn them into real goals for 2016. Write them down, give a rough time frame, and begin to take action steps all while surrendering to Jesus, letting Him lead you. Let’s prayerfully take action and live intentionally. We can do this together with laser focus and I’m here to help encourage along the way with a specific focus each month.

REPEAT: ” I love change and easily adjust myself to new situations”
Remember, change is inevitable but growth is optional. We ALL will experience change and for some it may be a daunting task but if you speak positivity in the midst of and even before, you can prepare yourself for anything that comes your way.
It’s not about what you go through but how you choose to deal with those things you encounter.
God’s word says “be confident that He hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him. And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He give us what we ask for.” 1 John 5:13-15
When I dive into this message, a few of things stand out to me. Three particular things are
Being confident or as the dictionary states, “certain that something will happen“… is telling us that we shouldn’t question IF He heard our prayer. BUT that we must recognize that those requests are granted when they are pleasing to God and not against His will. This is how we will know He hears us and will grant our requests.
When I’m praying about a particular situation and wondering if God hears my cry, I remember the dissection of this scripture. It’s important to not always focus on what we need for ourselves but to recognize if what we want for ourselves, lives and those around us is in God’s will and pleasing to Him.
Don’t fall for the traps of social media, magazines and television that states there is a specific kind of beauty. You are uniquely beautiful, made in His image and He doesn’t make any mistakes. Love who you are! Know your worth! Accept your flaws and don’t let go!

Many times in life we have expectations without wanting to do the work but God says He blesses the hands of a diligent worker. We must be willing to put action behind our faith in order to receive our desires results.
What will you do today that will bring you closer to your goals tomorrow??
REMEMBER: You are more than a conqueror and you are called to be something great! Your future lies in the power of the tongue. Speak great things into the atmosphere and watch God work.

Live on purpose and go after your dreams. God didn’t give them to you for you to NOT do anything with them!
yes… I am newly married, yes… I’m all in love and yes this is a gushy celebration to my husband on his 41st birthday. NOW, if you want to read on, do so at your own risk! LOL
The man I married turns 41 today and I choose to celebrate by sharing 15 of my 41 reasons, special moments, and poetic phrases on why I love him so and thank God daily for allowing our paths to cross. (I’m sharing only 15 with the public and he gets the rest… I’m sure you are thankful of this! LOL)
1. November 7th, 2014 The day we met! He was so persistent in capturing me that he turned his couple hours visit into 4 days until he got my number and has now married me! Thank God for my husbands persistence!
2. His thoughtfulness. This man is truly made for me. The way he chose to speak with my granny prior to me when wanting to make me his for life is one of the sweetest things he has done.
3. Witty sense of humor. “Boom… ch ch ch” Only he and a select few will get this so I decided to share the video for more laughs! (He truly thinks he’s one of the worlds best break dancers and I will support his thoughts with smiles and laughs)
4. His love for family. From being a devoted and loving father to the protector of the family and ensuring those values are shared with my family as well is another reason I celebrate him.
5. His smile. CHEEEEEESE!
6. The provider. He is a diligent worker and as I travel over the road with him, I see more and more of his strong work ethic and desire to provide for his family. Even when he’s so tired of working he falls asleep in the chair, at the restaurant or wherever he can get some rest!
7. He is the joy-bringer! From jokes to dancing to being playful in public, he always finds a way to make me smile.
8. His love for children. I remember the second weekend we spent together and he was at my granny house talking with the kids in the house while others were outdoors having fun, I thought to myself… “this is a man I could marry. I love the way he entertains and listens to children”
9. His poetry. The first poem of many he has written for me:
“Good morning my sunshine, the stars that light up my sky, the apple of my eye, the one who caught me by surprise not just with your curves but with your words. You are my mind orgasm, my haley’s comet, most importantly you are my friend and just to think of you is like the gentle wind, that touches me from within.”
10. I celebrate his willingness to love me through my stubborn, Ms. Independent, I don’t need a man attitude and bring out the best in me.
11. His talks with his sons. Overhearing the conversations he has to teach them how to be gentlemen with many things is so awesome but particularly love the conversation of being a gentlemen by opening doors for women and the reasons why it should be done.
12. His obedience to God’s will. Seeing first hand he putting his thoughts aside to follow God’s plan is awe-inspiring and allows me to trust him with me as his wife.
13. He prays over and for me. Each day since we’ve met, we have prayed together in the morning, giving praise and asking for guidance over our union. Just two days ago at 6 am, as I was laying in his arms, my legs intertwined with his, with my eyes shut I heard this prayer
“My Heavenly Father, thank you. Thank you Lord for blessing me with my beautiful, wonderful, patient and loving wife. Thank you so much God for her. Even on darkrainy days, it’s beautiful because I have her.” Then he kissed me softly and repeatedly on my forehead and laid for another 10-15 minutes before awakening me with the words of “good morning my love, my beautiful sunshine!”
